On November 7, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai issued a Public Notice announcing a first ever FCC Forum focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. This Forum will convene at FCC headquarters on November 30 and will feature experts in AI and machine learning discussing the future of these technologies and their implications for the communications marketplace.

While the specific agenda for the Forum and specific participants have yet to be announced, the Public Notice stated that the FCC is taking this step because “so much of AI intersects with the Commission’s technological engineering work, we want to explore what it means for the future of communications.” This short but tantalizing Public Notice piqued our interest, so stay tuned here for further details about the Forum as they become available.
